About the event
The Poverty Simulation experience prompts individuals to reflect on the difficulties of poverty and engage in discussions about how to tackle the issue. It is meant to provide participants with a glimpse into the daily struggles of a typical low-income family. This simulation is a valuable tool for anyone looking to gain a deeper understanding of poverty and its impacts. The Poverty Simulation also dispels stereotypes by giving participants the opportunity to experience the daily challenges faced by those in poverty. Poverty is frequently portrayed as a singular problem, but through this simulation, individuals can gain a deeper appreciation for the multitude of interconnected factors that contribute to poverty. By walking in the shoes of someone facing poverty for a month, participants can gain a more nuanced understanding of the issue.
